The LUCS Frontend (FE) is the main interaction point for Agents and Supervisors when handling daily calls. Every user can adapt FE to personal needs by using Widgets. Alternatively the frontend can be used as public wallboard without any login.

As of 3.5 the development focus is set on a new modern Dashboard, providing the same functionality as the "Classic" Frontend, but also many new features. You can install both the FE and Dashboard components simultaneously to test and compare features, but please note that the classic "WebFrontend" will receive no further feature updates.

Before you start

Frontend Access Preconditions

  • The Frontend (FE) component is installed on your LUCS server instance and the 'FECore' Service is running
  • Windows Internet Information Services (IIS) on your LUCS server instance needs to host the FE-Website. To find out which port is needed to access the FE, access your LUCS server and open Internet Information Services

Browser Requirements

  • Internet Explorer 10/11 are supported, using the lastest Microsoft Edge Version is recommended.  (warning)  When using Internet Explorer 9 a correct behavior of the application is not guaranteed. Data will not update automatically, requiring manual reload of pages.
  • Google Chrome (the latest version).

Tips for using the Frontend

  • The Front End has a responsive user interface. It resizes itself depending on the type of device used (desktop computer monitor, laptop, tablet, smartphone screens), utilizing the available space while avoiding scroll bars as much as possible.
  • Due to this design,  labels may contain data, which is larger than the space available. In these cases the system shortens these labels by adding ‘…’ in the end of the label.  When you hover these labels with your mouse cursor, the system shows a hint with the full content of the label.

  • Your zoom level in the browser has a major impact on which elements you can see at a time. The use of CTRL+Mousewheel (or the "View" menu in most browsers) adjust this. We recommend 100% (Original) Zoom to avoid potential cutting off of elements.

The LUCS Frontend is accessible by opening your browser with the configured instance-name and the port (see "Before you start" chapter above).

A login will be shown to you:

(info) When walls have already been created, they can be accessed without a login. Read more about this in the "Frontend Features per user role" chapter below.

LUCS Frontend Login

The login permission is controlled via Role Based Access - RBAC by granting the ". Users which have been given Admin Group Permissions on Application Machines can always login as they are automatically given highest "System" privileges on the Frontend.

Frontend UI

After the login you will be presented with the Frontend UI, which consists of the main application menu (also referred to as sidebar or just menu) and the main page content area that changes depending on the sidebar selection.
