The "Users" page allows to manage and add users in the System

Users page

The page contains the following controls / columns:

Column\Control Name

Description

First Name

First name of the user.

Last Name

Last name of the user.

SAM

SAM account of the user.

SIP Address

SIP Address of the user.

Organization Unit

Organization Unit to which the user belongs.

(info) Organization unit for the user can be edited on "Basic Information" tab when editing the user.

RA

Indicates if the user has RA (Routing Assistant) permissions.

(info) Further infos in the "Edit User" chapters below. Also refer to User Roles for details.

MA

Indicates if the user has MA (Managers and Assistants) permissions.

(info) Further infos in the chapters below. Also refer to User Roles for details.

BL

Indicates if the user has BL (Blacklist) permissions.


Controls

button to remove the user. 

button to edit user details. → The "Edit User" pop-up appears.

The "Inactivate\Activate PA" button is visible only for PA-users USER and allows to activate or inactivate publication of user's PA settings in SfB: 

button indicates that PA settings is activated.  Updated routing information will be published on SfB side.

button indicates that PA settings is deactivated. Updated routing information will not be published on SfB side.

Add User

SYSTEM ADMIN System Administrators can add new users upon clicking "Add User" button.
→ The "Add User" pop-up appears to configure details.

Search

Search control allows searching of specific users by one of the following criteria:

  • Firstname
  • Lastname
  • Displayname (combinations of Firstname/Lastname)
    • Firstname Lastname
    • Lastname Firstname
  • SipUri
  • LineUri
  • PrivateLineUri
  • Sam
  • Sid
  • OrganizationUnit

(lightbulb) Search starts after one character input, applying a "starts with" condition.

Clear

Clears the search bar. → An unfiltered list of all users will be displayed on-page.

Notes

SYSTEM ADMIN 

  • If "AD Synchronization Interval in Seconds" value is set within Settings then user details changes made in Active Directory will be updated in the application.
  • If there is no user in the Active Directory (user was deleted for example) or not enabled on SfB Server - but existing in the application - then PA and MA User Roles will be reset for this user after synchronization with AD.
    → A login into to the system is not possible for this user anymore.

Add User

When clicking on "Add User"' button the corresponding pop-up is opened:

Fill details / Select User from AD

Information can be entered manually or automatically filled in over "Select User from AD field:

  1. When typing one of the following parameter the system automatically searches for matches:
    1. First Name
    2. Last Name
    3. SIP
    4. SAM
      → found matches are displayed in a dropdown

  2. Click on any user found in the AD → Details will be filled into the basic information tab.
    (lightbulb) When the user is already existing in the system user a warning message will be displayed instead.
    "Can't create this user because another user with the current SID (<SID>) already exists in the system."

Edit User

When editing a user you can either edit:

  • Basic Information on the user
  • Presence Assistant Settings
  • Managers\Assistants Settings

Each tab is explained in the following.

Basic Information Tab

Within the "Basic Information" tab details such as First and Last Name, SAM, SID, Organization Unit, SIP Address, Phone URI, Private Phone URI are specified.

Basic Information tab

The "Registrar Pool" cannot be changed manually; it is pulled from SfB Server.

Target for SIP handling value defines a target where user's calls will be redirected in case of errors (→  errors can be configured on Settings page). The targets can be specified using either of the following formats:

  • The target's SIP address: SIP address must use the "SIP:" prefix as well as a valid SIP domain
  • The target's phone number: The private line value should be specified using the E.164 format, but does not required a "TEL:" prefix

Presence Assistant Tab

Within the "Presence Assistant" tab it is possible to manage some settings for the PA-user and to add\edit\remove templates that can be applied as currently active to specific PA-user.

Enable or disable user for PA:

  • Enabled will activate the Routing Assistant for the user
  • Otherwise no page is visible in the menu.
Template Column
Menu Buttons

(lightbulb) Templates are displayed by template name ascending by default. Use the:

button to edit specific templates.
button to apply template with its settings to the user. These settings will be used further.
button to remove specific template (except Default template).

(warning) It is not allowed to create templates with the same name, must be unique.

Restricted 
checkbox 

(tick) Restricted rules can be set in "Regex Fwd/SimRing Restrictions" field on Settings page.

Enabled to apply "restricted" rules to apply to an individual user's Routing Assistant or not.

When applying these rules a warning pop-up appears in case the affected user has any existing data on his "Presence Assistant" page.



User can inactivate PA
checkbox

Allows the user be able to activate\inactivate PA or not:

Affects the PA Functionality Toggle in the Routing Assistant 
 

(lightbulb) Checkbox is not selected by default.

Add Template

System Administrator can add new template over 'Add Template' pop-up upon clicking 'Add Template' button:

Managers/Assistants Tab

Within the "Managers/Assistants" tab  System Administrator can:

  • add\remove assistants and managers rights to specific users. 
  • add\remove rights for editing
  • set\remove assistants as delegates

Managers\Assistants tab

(lightbulb) Each column can be filtered via Filter pop-up that will be opened upon clicking "Filter" icon at the top right corner of a column.

(lightbulb) Assistants and Managers are displayed by Last Name ascending by default.

When enabled the user sees the Managers and Assistants page in the menu.

Add Manager

A Manager can be added via the "Add Manager" button:

(lightbulb) There are no further options. Managers will inherit the right to manage delegates or assistants as described in User Roles.

Add Assistant

An Assistant can be added via the "Add Assistant" button:

A System Administrator may grant the following rights to an Assistant:

Can Modify PA

The Assistant is able to edit data on the Routing Assistant of currently edited user

In this case, assistant sees an appropriate 'Edit' icon for specific manager on his Managers and Assistants page.

Can Modify MA

The Assistant is able to edit Assistants of currently edited user.

In this case, assistant sees an appropriate 'Edit' icon for specific manager on his Managers and Assistants page.

Set as Delegate

A System Administrator can name an Assistant to be a "Delegate" via this checkbox

A green button indicates that the Assistant is set as Delegate (= SfB Functionality).

Blacklist Tab

Allows to enable blacklist functionality for that user and add new Blacklist entries. 

A System Administrator may grant the following rights to a user:

Error Handling

Endpoint shown as stopped / terminated in Frontend

If a user endpoint is stopped or the PA core service is not running properly on a warning is shown on top of the UI:

  • You can try to restart the User on PA Core directly via the frontend → expected a few moments of downtime until PA core service is restarted.
  • If a user is stopped a warning in logged in windows "event logs" on the PC where PA Core is installed. If the service is not restarted, the logs might help identify a cause. If the problem persists, please contact Luware service:
