Downloading Recorded Conversations
How to find a recorded conversation in Luware Recording and download the audio file for playback.
Overview
Luware Recording stores recorded conversations and makes them available for playback directly through the web application. Authorized users can search for any recorded call and download it as a WAV audio file, which can be opened in any standard media player.
Access to recorded conversations depends on your role and the permissions configured in your environment. Supervisors can typically access recordings for the users and service lines they are assigned to. If you cannot find a conversation you expect to see, contact your Administrator to confirm your access permissions.
Searching for a Conversation
The Search view lets you filter the full conversation history available to your account. You can search by a range of criteria, including the user who was recorded, a telephone number involved in the call, a date range, or the call direction. Combining filters narrows results quickly when you are looking for a specific call.
Downloading a Recorded Conversation
Navigate to Conversations > Search in the top navigation bar.
Search for the conversation you want to download. You can search by the recorded user's name, a telephone number, a date range, or other available filters.
Click the Download button next to the conversation in the results list.

The audio file downloads to your device as a WAV file. Open it with any media player that supports the WAV format, such as Windows Media Player, VLC, or QuickTime.
💡 About the WAV Format
Recordings are downloaded as Waveform Audio File Format (WAV) files. WAV is an uncompressed audio format widely supported across operating systems and media players. Because the files are uncompressed, they can be larger than compressed formats like MP3, so allow for extra storage space if you are downloading a high volume of recordings.
Limitations
- Recordings that are subject to Legal Hold cannot be downloaded by standard users. Contact your Administrator if you need access to a held recording.
- Recordings within their retention period are protected and may have restricted download permissions depending on your role configuration.
- Only conversations recorded by Luware Recording are available for download. Calls that were not captured by the recording policy will not appear in Search results.
